There is a way to digitize them yourself. Two things come to mind: It may be a more efficient use of your time to pay for the digital version and digitizing and making a book available that is still under copyright to others is stealing income from the author and publisher. Digitizing for personal use from one format to another is much like ripping old vinyl records you own to MP3 format. Also, if you do digitize, keep in mind charities are often selling the printed books to raise funds and some artists are using them for wonderful art projects. Enhanced books have video and collectively we all watch over 80 million hours of YouTube per day. Most people like a video that is 3 minutes or less. It seems many would rather see a video than read. It is also estimated that 10% of internet bandwidth is used on cat videos. Not sure that is accurate, but it could be possible.
